Summer DSRP

This is a summer research program for incoming freshmen and freshmen scholars after the second semester at IUPUI. Students will be matched with a faculty research mentor and engage in early hands on research related to their intended major. This summer research experience for freshmen scholars who are not science or engineering majors (STEM). The program is eight weeks in length and students are awarded a stipend of $3,000. Students are matched with a volunteer faculty research mentor to develop a new project or to continue on a previous student project. We learned that freshmen in these summer groups became more committed to undergraduate research efforts. In addition, the retention rate has been higher among this cohort.
